[Sigh. Why isn't everyone a walking dictionary.] You should read Oedipus. It's from ancient Greece, it's usually taught as extreme haughtiness - in a lot of Greek stories, a character with hubris will challenge the gods, or their laws, and that will lead to their fall. It's pride so acute that you let it blind you. [He has been guilty of this. :c]
