On deck. After lunch, in the afternoon.

Sounds good.

[So after lunch - which he figures is between twelve and one, that's when normal people eat, right? - Tim heads up to the deck, taking in a sight or two while he waits, hands in his pockets.]

[Sylar arrived late. Specifying the time and place, showing up just a few minutes late? He was testing how much he could get away with in a very subtle way. As long as the inmate felt he had some semblance of control, things would go smoother. And as soon as he got his abilities back? Life would be good again.

The killer arrived with hands loitering at his sides in jeans and a button-down, appearing as casual as ever. He was oblivious to who Tim was, where he was from, what he did-- the truth was that the inmate had been completely oblivious that the boy wonder existed until they were paired together after mysteriously being unassigned from The Doctor.

He approached the only man up on deck, walking to the railing not far from him and looking out rather than to his warden for the moment.]

"Have you read my file?" [It seemed like a good place to start. Now he cast his gaze to the other man with a slight tilt of his head, questioning, testing.]

[The lateness, the casualness, all of it was noticed and noted, while Tim kept his look neutral. He didn't care about the lateness; if Sylar wanted to test him this early on, fine. It could go both ways.]

Yeah. I can tell you a couple things about me, if you want. Try and even the tables. [Not that he'd offer a lot.]

"I think you're reaching a little high if you think you could make it even, balanced." [He paused, shifting to lean back on the railing and watch his warden. Sylar was in a horrid mood from port and not having had his abilities for months, but he was trying very hard to remain neutral at present to begin on good terms with his warden despite everything.]

"I would be foolish to decline-- to say no to the offer of getting to know you better. 'Tim,' was it?"

Well, I did say try. [Tim shrugged, vaguely apologetic, and nodded.] Tim, yeah. [He walked to the railing a couple feet from Sylar, leaning against it and looking over before turning back to the older man.]

I'm from Gotham City, in New Jersey. Grew up pretty well off, I guess. Went to school, hung out.

[Nope. Not offering much at all.] Do you prefer Gabriel, or Sylar? [He had a good guess, but wanted to see if his inmate had a noticeable reaction.]

[Tim reminded him a little bit of Luke. The kind of kid better meant for a sidekick than a warden; someone he would probably have difficulty respecting.] "How old are you?"

[At the question, his nonchalance diminished a moment and his eyes swept a straight shot to the other man. His muscles tensed and tightened, though his posture didn't much change.] "Sylar."

[Someone else probably wouldn't have noticed it, but Tim had trained with the best the world had to offer: Batman, Lady Shiva, Batgirl. Cass Cain could read body movements like others could read a sentence, and he'd learned from sparring her how useful that was. So he noticed the tightening, noticed the way his eyes moved. It was interesting.]

Old enough. So, Sylar. How long have you been on the Barge?

"Long enough." [He replied without any real consideration. Sylar knew almost exactly how long he had been here, but he wasn't about to answer any questions if his warden was going to treat him that way. Though his eyes began to wander again, his muscles remained tense. Unless he was specifically searching for something? The man was too arrogant to feel the need to watch whoever he was with much.]

"If you read my file then you know that I want access to my abilities." [No use wasting time.] "Are you going to give them to me or not?"

[Tim snorted quietly at his answer, not particularly surprised. He watched Sylar's attention wander, and had to quell his own smirk. He was used to being underestimated, but that wasn't a problem here. Turning to lean back against the rail, Tim arched both eyebrows.]

You've only got the intuitive aptitude now, right?

"Right."

[Okay, Tim scored a point for doing his homework. Sylar would give him that. His eyes glanced over to his warden again, muscles slowly easing away from a fight.]

So convince me to give you some of the others back. [Tim tilted his head back so he could look up at Sylar, eyebrows arched.] The way I read it, you killed someone the last time you were powered up. The last two times.
