So Eddie's game made me realize that it's been a really long time since I've had areal computer system to mess with. I mean, my laptop might throw a fight if I take it apart one more time, and I didn't bring much else with me. [Translation? He misses the epic Bat computer and tinkering with the Batmobile and the crazy bat suits and vehicles of all variations.]

I'm not sure exactly what I'm asking for here, but given the fact that we've got androids, sentient programs, and all kinds of techie geniuses on board, I guess I'm just looking for something to do. I'd jump on the chance to learn about some alien gadgets. Or future ones. Or stuff from the twenty-first century that I've never had the opportunity to take apart and put back together.

Yeah, I'm coming. [Sigh. At least the rain isn't quite reaching them. He steps in and closes the door behind him.] Didn't quite have this dreary setting in mind, but...

Could be worse. It was a freaking desert the last time I was here. I lasted all of about twenty minutes. [She picks her way towards what looks like a natural trail of sorts, where the ground evens out a bit.]

[He follows, cause honestly, he'd start climbing the trees or something to get around.] Seriously? Sometimes I think it switches things up just to mess with us. I wouldn't have bothered at all.

Yeah, but you can just come back the next day and try again. I get one visit a week. [A pause.] And I'm kind of immune to sunburn.

[Damn it Shego, why can't you graduate so they can just. Enjoy this. :c Tim runs a hand through his hair.] Good point. ...At least you don't burn? I'm pretty sure I'd fry after spending most of my time out at night.

[Because then she'd have to be a Warden and take responsibility and probably stop stealing stuff and beating people.] Just as well you don't go hanging out in deserts, then. [She slides her arm through his. Do not respond to this.] I haven't heard any whining about specialness over the network for a while. Is Sylar still around?

[She knows he is, but. Hypberbole. :c]

[She can be a warden and believe in...martial law, can't she. That's allowed, right. And he's totally cool with saying nothing about her being closer because...she's closer now, so. Win-win.]

He has been pretty quiet lately. I'm almost worried. [He is worried, but. He doesn't really want to talk about Sylar with Shego. :C]

[Shego doesn't really enjoy talking about Sylar with anyone. But she feels the need to take an interest sometimes.]

I guess you just run out of stuff to talk about eventually.

[And sometimes it feels like they've almost run out of stuff to talk about, because Tim's life pre-Barge is probably some horrible minefield of trauma and secrets that she doesn't want to even try navigating. She almost liked it more before they were dating and they could just banter without it being underlined with the task of maintaining a relationship. It's...kind of typical of her not to want to put the effort in.]

[Effort is scary. Sometimes so is talking. He isn't...entirely sure what they should talk about, even. His last girlfriend was in high school, and they had a pretty easy time talking about classes - and the rest of the time he was lying about what he did at night. And without either fallback...well.]

I guess. [Well. That's not uncomfortably troublesome or anything. Which means he's fishing for something to say.] He asked me to tell Cissie to forgive him.

[Ordinarily, Shego would have been perfectly satisfied to just make a noise and move on, but after sparring with Cissie she feels slightly more invested than she would be otherwise. Plus that comment is completely bewildering by itself.]

Forgive him for what?

[He wondered, in the back of his mind, just how foggy the line was between what you should and shouldn't share with a girlfriend when it was about a friend. Was he just hoping to have something to talk about, or would Cissie be angry at him?] He broke up with her. And slept with - someone else.

[Shego pulled a face that communicated better than mere words her utter disgust with the idea that Sylar had slept with anybody ever.]

How was she dating him to begin with? Is she mentally ill? He's a serial killer.

[Tim is right there with her. At least as far as his friends/exes go. :c]

I don't know how it started. I really don't want to. I even warned her about him when she came on board, and-- [Okay he's still a tiny bit bitter about that, so he's just shaking his head.] doesn't make much difference now, I guess.

I guess. The only way you deal with taste in men that bad is with a couple years in therapy.

[The line of trees was stuttering out, and ahead of them was a broad, grey-blue lake. The rain had stopped, and there was light struggling through the clouds.]

[Grimace.] Right, therapy.

[He hates talking about potentially therapy stuff because lol he probably really needs it, BUT HEY A LAKE. He perks up a little.] Think it's too cold to swim?

[She half-smiles, because this feels reminiscent of the summer camp flood - another point at which things were straightforward and talking didn't feel like it required effort. She unzips her jacket.]

No. No I don't.

[This relationship was practically built on floods. He doesn't particularly want to think about what that means, or why they're talking so little, but he will. Later. Right now he's tugging off his shirt and heading for the lake.]

Good. Race you?

[She slithers out of her jeans but leaves her shirt on, dipping a toe in the water. It's cold, but not hypothermic are-you-insane cold.]

Sure.

[And then she wades into the water, shivering, until it's deep enough to swim.]

[Why are there never bathing suits when you need them. Tim shucks his jeans, too, and heads into the water after her. Okay, well, at least they won't be getting hypothermia. That's awesome.

He ducks under, pushing his hair out of his eyes as he surfaces - and for the hell of it, splashes Shego.]
