I've never been somewhere with closer correlations to a roller coaster before coming here. I fell asleep on a roller coaster, once. My girlfriend - at the time - was pretty furious with me. She didn't talk to me for the rest of the day. Kind of killed our day out.

All things considered? Sometimes I wish I could sleep through this ride. It better be a long time until we start the next steep climb.

My point is, being here might be different than being home - but you still have to make a choice, and you don't have to let anyone influence you. What Dick says - it applies to Dick. That's his choice, it doesn't have to be yours.

I know it doesn't really matter what Dick or anyone else thinks. And I know I have to do the right thing, even if it's hard. I've made that choice, and I make again it every day. I'm just... do you have any idea how hard it is? I practically had to tie you to the bed to keep you from running off with a gunshot wound, Stephanie sneaks out of the infirmary every chance she gets and even gets people to smuggle her out, and Dick--he goes on and on about how it's an easy choice, it's simple, because hey, if you can help people, that's what you do! But it's not simple and it's not easy and every time someone gets hurt or dies, the first thing I think about is if I could have stopped it if I'd been there. And then I think about what I might have done if I'd been there and couldn't stop it and--either way, I'm useless.

You are not useless. You kept me from running off and getting killed, you helped Molly, you help a lot of people. Who says you have to do it the way I do? Or the way your mom wanted you to? Did you have to sit and think about whether it was right to keep me from leaving with a bullet in my shoulder?
