Maybe because I have yet to kill anyone with my cooking. There was a close call, once, but I stopped cooking when I realized everything was spoiled. [He picks up a plate to serve here, because when Tim goes all out he goes all out like a boss.]

You're not exactly making me feel better about this, Tim. [Buuut she'll accept a plate anyway, and her sharp expression softens a little.]

So, is there anything going on with you right now?

I might be making it a slightly bigger deal than it was. [But he falls silent while he serves himself, and just toys with the pasta on his fork for a moment. Honesty is good, right?]

I don't know. The nightmares haven't stopped. But I miss Gotham. I miss being in control of every situation I enter. I can't plan for everything here, there are too many unpredictable factors, and in the end I just start feeling useless.

You could go back for a little bit. Bust some heads, do some detecting, whatever makes you feel better. Once you've got a clearer definition of the difference between 'Barge useless' and 'regular useless' you'll be fine.

Yeah, but I've done both, and his reactions are kind of the same. [But he is all for bypassing this topic he did not mean to raise, so.]

Alfred. He was Bruce's butler, but he's been more like family for years. He can do things with an oven that I didn't think were possible outside of ritzy French restaurants. I guess I just picked up a few things over the years. Nothing astounding, and he probably could have made this better, but at least I won't starve if left on my own. Bruce definitely would.

[This Bruce-cannot-cook snippet is pretty amusing to Shego and she files it away, choosing to rip on Batman instead of chasing up the I-cannot-believe-you-have-a-butler thing:]

I believe it. The thing is, he'd manage on roots and probably come through just fine.

[She just laughs.] You know I have this incredible image of the guy scratching around for roots and water outside whatever fully-equipped mansion you lived in, right?

When I went to boarding school, Alfred came with me for a few months. I've always assumed Bruce's time without him went something like that.

[What. Her mouth twitches like there are massive lolz trying to escape.]

Hold up, you - you took your butler with you to boarding school?

...It was a really posh boarding school? My first roommate was a prince from the Middle East. Don't ask. [BECAUSE I CAN'T REMEMBER THE NAME OF HIS MADE UP COUNTRY LOL :C]

Let me guess, he brought a laundry maid and somebody else down the hall brought a valet and you pooled the domestic help?

He brought a body guard who made it intensely hard to sneak out at night. Most of the other kids didn't have a butler, but our parents were all paying through the nose to leave us there. My second roommate was an alcoholic at sixteen. I have no idea what it's like to have a normal school experience.

[She just lifts one extremely green arm and lets it glow faintly for a moment before putting it back to the more practical use of twisting spaghetti onto her fork.]

Yeah, that makes two of us.

Oh look, something else we have in common. [And now there is a pause for a mouthful of meatball, nom.] I learned how to skateboard while I was there, though.

For your crimefighting commute? I vaguely remember you telling me about that.

Did I mention that I fondly called it the Redboard? [Apparently it's tell embarrassing stories day.]

[WHAT IS THIS. ENDLESS SNERK.] The Redboard. No, you never did. If you had, you'd still be trying to live that down. [She takes a bite of her food.] It wasn't, I dunno, rocket-powered? Equipped with a net-shooting function?

I worked up some modifications. And I did have dreams about rocket powered skateboards. [FORTUNATELY her snerk is quite tolerable.]

[She just laughs quietly behind her fork.] Eesh. And I thought the Go-Jet was terrible. [A pause.] The Go-Jet is totally still terrible. But at least I never skateboarded out of school to go fight crime.

I still really want to see the Go-Jet. We had a rocket at one point, very little falls under terrible where gadgets, gizmos, and alternatives rides are involved.
