[The video is just of a Parisian cityscape, seen from fairly high up. Like on a roof. Tim won't be showing himself at all.]

You know, I never liked Paris. My memories of it aren't the best. But it could be worse - we could be in Madrid. Madrid is definitely the Gotham of Spain.

In my universe, anyway.

[A pause, and the camera turns off for a few moments. When it's on again, we're higher up, and the view is of where the Eiffel Tower should be. The debris has been cleared away, but there's a pretty wide swatch of destruction all around it. The base is being rebuilt.]

For anyone who's interested, this didn't happen naturally. It didn't just rust and fall down. You might run into trouble with local authorities, so try to keep an extra low profile.

[There's some shuffling out of view, and then Tim turns the camera on himself. It's carefully just on his head, and if you can see some material bunched around his shoulders and neck....it's a scarf. :|]

Sight seeing's kind of out of the question, I guess.

[And off goes the camera.]

((OOC: So Tim will mostly be looking into the Eiffel Tower incident, but he's so very open to spam anywhere. Because he needs to get out of that costume before he starts smelling too hideous, okay. OH and all his replies will be voice!]

Madrid? Really?

When I was there, anyway.

Strange, as the Madrid I know is the centre of authoritarian government and martial law.

I imagine time, and differing worlds, changes things considerably.

That's kind of too bad, really. Admittedly, I wasn't there very long - but there was a kidnapping that not much was being done on. Or maybe they couldn't do much, I don't know. The news made it all seemed grim. [What no of course he didn't experience this first hand.]

News normally does, admittedly, unless someone has control of it.

What brought you to Madrid, can I ask?

I wouldn't call it working, exactly...

Does it involve any of the following: investigating, following shady people, scaling buildings, putting yourself into potentially dangerous situations, kevlar or trying to sneak past the barriers around the Eiffel Tower?

Does it count if I've already one everything on that list? [Trying, pft, there is no trying.]

Probably because, judging by the people I've met on the Barge, most other universes are safer.

And therein lies the reason for the fat lot of nothing everyone learns.

Looks like a chemical attack. Quick corrosion, probably delivered by bomb or missile. I found pictures of the tower when it happened. It's not pretty.

...Huh. What kind of thing would to that? Who would do that? I mean--the Eiffel Tower? Not exactly strategic. Sounds like kind of a jerk move to me.

It's a display, that's the strategy. The Tower's a symbol of power: and whoever's responsible just showed that they can take that away.

They've done surprisingly well.
