Dick and Cass set up a Network to hold our problems at bay; it was supposed to be a replacement. I think we all know that you can't replace Batman - and if you try, you can't replace him with a group. It was a good idea, but we're barely keeping Gotham from blowing itself up.

We didn't keep Arkham from getting blown up.

Buses full of Arkham prisoners, gone. There are rumors that Black Mask - Black Mask, of all people - is back. I don't know what's worse, if he's actually alive or if the name's been turned into a legacy.

Look at what's happened. Everything that's happened; Gotham needs its Dark Knight. Dick knows it has to be one of us. There can be only one Batman, and it won't be the fake leaving those notes claiming otherwise. Dick knows it has to be one of us. But he won't take the mantle; he thinks no one should take Batman's place.

But someone's trying to, and I won't let him. Gotham needs Batman, but not the fake - especially if he's who I think he is.
