Trying to get away with it isn't the point, Sylar. You're not only manipulating Iago, you're manipulating Judas. That isn't any of your business. If you think their relationship's abusive, then you can handle it in other ways. Making deals to murder someone as a way to prove that isn't the way to deal with it.

I wasn't manipulating Iago. He made his choice of his own free will. Judas is a friend and he deserved to know what his so-called lover is actually like. He wouldn't listen to me unless I gave him an example that he could witness for himself.

You were manipulating Judas. There were better ways to deal with your concerns, Sylar.

By not planning a murder. By going to Sexby. Talking will do more than going behind everyone's back to try and fix things yourself. And you have to consider that you might not know what's best for them, even if you think you do.

How was I manipulating Judas? I know Judas is ignorant to the abuse he's suffering. That seemed enough of a reason to help him. Isn't that what friends are supposed to do?

Sexby couldn't have made a difference. Trusting him would be as worthless and stupid as trusting Sam Tyler.

By manipulating Iago. Friends don't try to trick each other into seeing the truth, even if that feels like the only way. If you thought there was a serious problem, you should've gone to others. To Sexby, or me. And he could make as much a difference as I could, Sylar.

What could you have done, or Sexby?

Sexby could have talked to them. At the least, we'd have kept an eye out. Almost anything would be better than trying to convince Judas that his boyfriend doesn't care about him by planning to kill someone with him only to turn around and tell Judas!

Because betraying them to you wardens is so much better than trying to help them myself.. I never said Iago doesn't care about Judas. I said he was lying to one or both of us. Now I'm guessing the latter.

Besides, it's not as if I would have killed him on a whim.

I don't want you killing anyone. And that wouldn't have fallen under our deal.

You can't force your views on trust on other people, Sylar. Especially not if your solution is a murder plot.

None of them asked for my side. Judas, Iago. The Marquis, Sexby. None of them cared to know the whole story. What happened.

I don't see why there's any point in telling you, trying to change their minds. I think you'll trust me, when I say I wasn't going to kill him. That I didn't think Iago would. I don't need any more than that.

There's always a point in having all the information available. I believe that you wouldn't have done it, but I don't know Iago. I don't know what he would or wouldn't have done. I know that I don't like you using murder as a bargaining chip.

And I definitely don't like not knowing the whole story.

I can't tell you the whole story. What I can tell you is that I asked Iago to kill someone for me, that he told me it would depend on what Judas said, and that nothing happened. That I asked Judas if Iago had spoken to him about it, saying he had betrayed one or both of us, that Judas told the wardens. I can tell you that weeks before, Iago said he was bored and wanted to do something. I offered him a target. You. Not to kill. To distract, to play with. He said he wanted to do it, that he would enjoy it. Obviously, that didn't happen either.
