Hey. I figured it was time to introduce myself - I'm Tim. I'm a new warden here, I guess.

Uh, I've been reading some past entries, and - what the hell happened, here? There are at least twenty different people offering apologies some more hysterically than others. Kind of a bizarre coincidence.

And I promise I don't judge you for it. Rather in the job description, being nonjudgmental.

I take it you don't mean New Age religions?

I can assure you that being an angel - or a demon, for that matter - is more a matter of species than a matter of philosophy. I caution you to keep that in mind, because there's certainly demons aboard capable of inhuman acts. I don't mean that as hyperbole.

They sound like horrid be-bop bands.

Yes, certainly, though I can't blame you for the suspicion. My Inmate in particular is someone I'd advise you steer clear of until you've reconciled his existence. Alastair is a very old and clever demon, and he won't hesitate to take advantage of someone's disbelief.

And they're inhabited? They still sound like ridiculous names for anything, much less entire planets.

Well, the very first day I was assigned to him he attempted to make a ritual sacrifice out of a young woman. Thankfully I stopped him in time, but I'm not convinced he's given up trying to return to Hell.

I think for my own peace of mind I'll refrain from inquiring further.

I've taken his supernatural abilities from him, but he's still effectively inhabiting a corpse. Killing him would be extremely difficult. And if he ever regained even a modicum of his former power - well, I'll try not to give him ideas. He's probably reading this.

Just as well, then.

No no, not at all. Let me put it this way... he's been torturing people for centuries and doing little else. The body that he's using isn't his own, just as my true form isn't anything like what you'd see if we were to meet. We use human form to interact with the world at large, but if this shape is destroyed it doesn't affect our actual existence.

I'm afraid it's bound to be confusing for the average person.

Dear me, not in my case. I confess I have no idea what happens to Alastair, as he's from a different Earth than my own, but where I'm from it's simply impractical. Rather blows cover and all that.

[identity profile] tartaned.livejournal.com 2010-01-18 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
A lot of different Earths.

Yes, something like that.

My dear boy, even if it weren't unbelievably crass, the habits of eight thousand years aren't so easily dismissed.

There's no reason I can't show my wings on occasion if it comes to that.

looool Az is in no hurry to disabuse him of that

I'm usually in the library if you ever have need of me - at the moment I'm rather tied up in my Inmate's affairs.
